Seniors look Forward to New Careers XVhere, oh, where are the grand old Sen- iors . . . As the traditional Class Day song fills the gym, we of the Class of '55 realize with surprise that it is being sung for us. Four long years of high school are coming to an end. and in this, our book of memories, we take time to look back and see the changes time has brought about in our class. How proud we were as freshmen 'way back in 1951, standing on the first rung of the lad- der to graduation. After the Cubs began the year by beating Aberdeen's Bobkittens in foot- ball, they proceeded to mow down basketball foes in masterly fashion. ljnwilling to limit ourselves to sports triumphs, the freshman play, Professor, How Could You! proved our unmistakable dramatic talent. Officers for that successful year included jim Anderson, president: Arie Callaghan. Marilee Peterson, Marlene Erickson, jerry Thomsen and Terry Lewis. After the long summer, we crossed the lawn and began our career as high school students by electing jerry Thomsen as presi- dent for the first semester. Serving with him were Tom lNlcGrath, janet Egge, Marlene lafrickson, Arie Callaghan, and Carol Hoover. After the successful production of the Sophomore-junior play, Bats in the Bel- frey, class members had an opportunity to dance to the music of Aub Schmidt's orchestra at their Hillbilly Hop. Sports-wise, Arie Callaghan and jim An- derson turned in creditable performances in football, and two sophomore guards, jim Anderson and Terry Hubble, sparked the Grizzlies' basketball team. Officers for the second semester were jim Anderson, president: Ron Fleming, Peggy jordan, jackie Reynvaan. Mike jump, and jan Pendergraft. As juniors, we continued our many activi- ties in the same successful vein. Cnder the leadership of class president Tom McGrath, vice president Terry l.ewis, secretary lfrnes- tine lfgge, treasurer Peggy jordan, sergeant- at-arms jim Anderson, and yell king Ray Ol- sen, we presented the Sophomore-junior play, Brother Goose, with nine juniors in promi- nent roles. juniors willingly contributed their time and talents to making the junior- Senior Ball, Kris Kringle Kotillionf' a huge triumph. Five juniors earned letters in football as the Grizzlies placed second in conference play. jim Anderson, Fd Bryan, and Terry Hubble proved to be spark plugs of the basketball team. seeing plenty of action. At long last we reached our final year. VVe were mighty seniors! VVe began our most outstanding year by electing Darrell Xvoyak as president of the class. He was ably as- sisted by Ray Olsen, vice-president: janet lfgge, secretary: Meredith Simmons, treas- urer: Bob Roiko, sergeant-at-arms: and Al Perry, yell king. .
