I'lI always look back on this year in Hoquiam High School as one of the most satisfying in my life, so spoke a member of the class of '56 expressing an opinion shared by a major- ity of the class. The activities of the year more than show why this is true. Leading the class projects for the year were Dean DeXVees, president: Darrel XYin- ter, vice-president: Darlene Stevens. secre- tary: Sherian Klimek. treasurer: .lim lfenton, sergeant-at-arms: and Richard Nlattler, yell leader. Nlusically, the class was represented by a girls' sextet and two duet teams which in- cluded lfvelyn Kyker. Karen Brunstrom, Janet Cieoghegan. .loanne llart, Kay Scott. and Donna Brown. illhese versatile groups proved themselves worthy of praise by giving many outstanding performances both in as- semblies and in community entertainments. Une of the highlights of our year was the sophomore assembly, conceded by all leven the upperclassmenl to be highly entertaining and amusing. Nick Nlcyer brought down the house with his portrayal of the hero in the skit, His l-'irst Shave, especially when his zeal in the shaving scene resulted in a super- ficial but very real cut on his cheek.
