I6l?',2?'6J on iff another year has passed and another fresh- man class will take the momentous step across the lawn to assume their duties as members of the sophomore class. ilihis industrious class has just culminated a year filled with activities under the leadership of the freshmen class officers: Darrel XYinter. president: Dale llerron, vice president: Sheri- anne Klimek, secretary: Brenda llorek. treas- urer, and Christine .lohnson and l.ee Ciochnour. sergeants-at-arms. and their adviser, Nlr. Carlyle jones. Ciridiron greats for the next three years may well include memhers of the class of '56, Ray llickman, Clary litter, fiary Xlorgan. .lerry Nlarlow, Duane Cirandstrom, l.arry Kosoff. Kenneth Powell, Doug l'endergraft. Clary l.aw- rence. Darrel lVinter, Roney lfrickson, .lack Poukkula. Rohert lfchols, ,lim Graham, Boh llaj-'. Dick Keller, and Nlelvin Xeumiller proved themselves on the field of action as this year's freshmen foothall team and winners of the var- sity letter. Showing their ahilities on the maple court were eight athletic freshman hoys. Duane Cirandstrom, Robert lfchols, Nlelvin Neumiller. Darrel XVinter, Clary l.awrence. Dale llerron. David Rahey. and .lim Ciraham played their last season for the orange and hlack this year. lfollowing the example of their hig sisters. the senior class and perhaps setting a new tradition. freshmen lasses sported white hlouses and dark skirts at their last home haskethall game, which was played against Bremerton. 'lihe hoys were very co-operative and came decked out in white shirts and dark trousers as a final gesture of their support to the team. 'l'he Ciirls' l.eague headed hy l'resident Ciail lfgge and its freshmen officers, feasted their fighting heroes at two separate lwanquets to show their appreciation for the team's endeavors. illhey had thus climaxed the foothiill season, so the l.eague thought it only fitting to fete the hoop stars at the close of their season, too. Cupid's Dream was the theme of the annual Yalentine Dance sponsored traditionally hy this class. Reigning over the celestial scene were Nlr. and Nliss -lunior lligh of I953, Ciary King and Darlene Stevens, and Prince ,lerry Nlarlow with l'rincess .lanet Cieoghegan. Royal crown heaters for the occasion were little misses Alanet l.aCroix, .Xnne iliuikke. .ludy Stevens, and Raenene Galloway, lfreshman dramatists scored another hit when they acted out a creation entitled Summer Rash . 'lihe plot revolved alnout a failing sum-
