THREE MEN played instrumental roles in bringing Modular Scheduling to Hopkins High. The idea of introducing the system was basically the brain child of Mr. Ojala. the Project Director. It was he along with Mr. Weidner. Assistant Project Director, who did most of the research that was necessary before the system could be initiated. Once the basic changes the school would have to undergo were ascertained. Superintendent Dr. Green-await worked on a practical level to get the changes. Modular Scheduling was initiated this year and these three initiators are confident of the system's ultimate success in producing greater student responsibility. 23

Led by Mr. Coppins. it adopted a new attitude of trust and respect toward the student. Some of the responsibility for general discipline was delegated to the student body, while the administration handled specific problems. More cooperation between the administration and the student body came as a result of the change in attitude. Various services within the school also discovered the need for adaptability. Cooks coped with the unregulated noon rush and custodians with fifteen minute work mods . Efficiency and good quality were evident in all they did. 25
