DAVE HANSON AND DAVE NORD HAVE REACHED THE REQUIRED CONCLUSION IN CHEMISTRY. KEEPING AHEAD OF RUSSIA Dhe Math Department is attempting to meet the demands of the future through an experimental program. Senior Math, introduced this year, is a class designed for those students who have participated in advanced math and have finished trigonometry and solid geometry in their junior years. The students deal with analytical geometry and other advanced principles. Hopkins also hopes to begin a summer program of computer math for interested students. The Science Department began the year with the addition of a new physics instructor. Mr. Erpelding. A second addition is an experimental biology course, B.S.C.S.. taught by Mr. Hed-blom. The observatory, built by Mr. Sauter. who is also advisor of the Astronomy Club, is an invaluable asset to our Science Department. The chemistry department is enjoyinq its second year with the added facilities of the new wing. Through these fields of study. Hopkins endeavors to create an understanding of the many practical mathematical and scientific principles. 27
