All seniors are required to take Government and select one of the other one-semester courses: Economics. Sociology or World Problems. Sophomores who take World History study the political and cultural development of nations. Juniors who take American History study the development of our country and its government. Some juniors may take Advanced Placement History, a course which merits college credit and which deals in depth with the development and government of nations.

One does not only learn vocabulary and grammar, but also the culture, history, literature and geography of the main country in which the language is spoken. Study aids such as film strips, records and tapes are used to help the students become accustomed to tho native accent. Language is an important aspect in the well-rounded education of Hopkins students.
