FACTORS AND FALLOUT Since the areas of science and mathematics aro very important to the future citizens of a modern technological society, these two subjects are very much stressed in the schedules of Hopkins students. We are fortunate to have at Hopkins some of the best high school instructors and equipment available. There are many phases of each field the students at Hopkins can choose. In science we find Biology—the study of plant and animal life. Physics—the law of nature.‘ Chemistry—the science of materials and their compositions, and Physical Science—the knowledge of nonliving materials. In mathematics we have advanced courses of Geometry, Higher Algebra and Trigonometry. WATCH CLOSE. MARY!

PEOPLE AND PROBLEMS This year at H.H.S. the traditional modern problems course for seniors is replaced by a series of four one-semester courses. All seniors are required to take Government and select one of the other one-semester courses: Economics. Sociology or World Problems. Sophomores who take World History study the political and cultural development of nations. Juniors who take American History study the development of our country and its government. Some juniors may take Advanced Placement History, a course which merits college credit and which deals in depth with the development and government of nations.
