ON THE JOB LEARNING FOR THE DEMANDS OF TOMORROW T HE HOPKINS HIGH Home Economics deportment is important, for here girls learn the fundamentals of cooking, sowing, housekeeping and many other things that go into moking the students competent homemakers of tomorrow. They have well equipped kitchens and sewing labs in which to learn. Home Economics is an elective for Freshman through Seniors. Senior girls may also elect home and family living, which prepares them for marriage and family life. The industrial arts department covers a broad area. The department is divided into Five aroas: woodworking, metals, auto shop, electricity, and the graphic arts. The classes combine for certain projects to give the students the opportunity to see all the steps in the manufacture of a certain product. Here, as in the home economics department, the boys hove some of the best material and equipment available. This makes our vocational departments among the best in the state.
