54155 .Mdfory One bright September morning in 1941, the First Grade met in room 113 to begin twelve years of education and friendship. In 1945 and 1946 many of the members of the class began taking les- sons on musical instruments to qualify for membership in the band and orchestra. In 1949 our basketball team was recognized as being the Junior-High Champs. We were progressing as a class into better students and were better qualified to take on the tasks of High School. Our first year of high school was a whole new routine for us. We elect- ed class officers for the first time. They were as follows: President, George Smithg- Vice President, Nancy Covert, Secretary, Rosetta Bricknerg Trea- surer, Donna Jean Meisner. As- our class motto, we chose, Today Decides Tomorrow. We chose red and white as our class colors, and the Ameri- can Beauty Rose as our class flower. Also, many of the students joined different clubs and became interested in athletics and music. The main event of the year was our Freshman- Sophomore Prom. As Sophomores, we elected the following class officers: President, Rosetta Bricknerg Vice-President, Arlene Bricknerg Secretary, Catherine Smith, Treasurer, Merle Amlin. Again in 1951 the big event was the Freshman-Sophomore Prom. Our Junior year was chucked full of projects and excitement. As one project we published the Scarlet Banner, and for excitment we presented the Junior Class Play, The Darling Bratsf' Of all our excitement we en- joyed most the J unior-Senior Prom held in Tiffin on May Third, 1952. Our class officers for the Junior year were: President, George Smith, Vice President, Joel Omlorg Secretary, Donna Jean Meisner, Treasurer, Betty Zeller. Now that we are Seniors, we look back and can feel proud of all we have contributed to the school's history. We feel this book will also be a part of Hopewell-Loudon's great history. We will long remember our last prom, the Junior-Senior Prom held in Fostoria on April Twenty-fifth, 1953. Now that we are adults and are to go into the world for ourselves, we are sure we will be able to contribute to the world as much as we have to the history of Hopewell-Loudon School.
