For the last word must be, to nany if not to all of us, Good bye! Tonight, we the class of 1939, appear before you to com- memorate the end of four years of High School life. There is a fsellng of sorrow as we realize tint we, as the class of 19395111 never again gather in the class-rooms of Hope- well High This together with the fact that we have spent muy happy days at th1s high school nukes this a very sol Tonmght, we the class of l939,have oompleted the course that has been g1ven us, and are new ready to take e. step forward in the pathway of 11i'e We have been looking for ward to this time as a glad one, forgetting that :Lt was the time when we would be partmg. New we are suddenly forced to remember this feature, but in spite of our triumph, it mkes us sad So I am not gomg to prolong the partmg words To the Board of Edueation,as well as to our parents and friends ,I would extend the most hearty thanks of the class for the privileges we have enjoyed here We naturally feel that we have been better trained and cultured here, than the students of other schools. We have been very fortunate in rece1v1ng the advantages and privileges that we have here. And so we, mturally, feel very grateful to those who have nude it possible for us to come to th1s part1c ular school. We are especially happy to have a superintendent who beq- lieves that a rainy day only calls for a brighter smile-s superintendent to whom we can talk when problems seem too . N 0 emn occasion. ' .
