Homecoming half-time finally arrived at the Hopewell-Manchester game. The band and majorettes marched onto the field and began to play. Then everything got quiet. Fifteen homecoming princesses and their escorts were introduced. Parents, relatives, and friends of the homecoming princesses waited for the announcement. Over the loud speaker they announced the 1976 Homecoming Queen. Debbie Beach, 1975 queen, crowned Virginia Reese as her successor.
