FEATURES As our high school years slowly fade into the background of our lives, it is the outstanding honors and accomplishments of our fellow students that will still remain vivid in our minds. These students reflect the ideal scholastic achievements, outstanding dependability, beauty, poise, and earnest determinati on which earn the respect and admiration of others and lead the way for them to follow. These reflections will inspire us throughout our lives, to carry out our responsi¬ bilities as good citizens. We must learn to use these fine attributes as guides toward a more enriching and fulfill¬ ing life. Marilyn Hosea Mollie Vier Features Co-Editors eighteen

IN RECOGNITION OF SERVICE The production of the Kaleidoscope is perhaps more complex and time-consuming than most of its readers realize. It requires the earnest effort and hard work of each member of the staff. However, like any publication of this nature, the constant guidance of an interested sponsor is vital to the success of each yearbook. We, as Co-Editors, feel very fortunate in having such a man as Mr. Malvin M. Utleye as the Kaleidoscope Staff sponsor. There are many important matters to take care of and deadlines to be met during the year, and without his constant support, direction, and enthusiasm, this book could never have been possible. Not only has he played an important role in the production of the Kaleidoscope , but he is also sponsor and teacher of V.I.C.A., and serves the school in other capacities, such as operating the school supply store. This single page could not begin to express our gratitude and appre¬ ciation to him, but it is our hope that it will at least make everyone more aware of how lucky Hopewell High School is to have Mr. Utleye on “our team” Susan and Belinda seventeen
