Sept.—New 8th grade students, who seemed lost at Sept.—Our new year began with enthusiasm and first, soon became a real part of Hopewell High spirit as we played our first football game of the School. season. Oct.—School spirit reached its peak at our yearly bonfire where we all became determined to “Burn Petersburg”. Oct.—This misguided group of nonconforming char¬ acters are really just H.H.S. students at the Drama Guild Halloween Ball. Nov.—Something new at H.H.S. this year was the campaigning and mock election of President of the United States. This was very successfully done by the students alone. Nov.—One of the most successful dances of the year was our annual Homecoming Dance pre¬ ceded by the Homecoming game and parade. 25

Dec.—Allan Sordelette and twenty other Juniors and Seniors became members of the National Honor Society at the tapping. Dec.—The Christmas carolling of the Seniors truly promoted the holiday spirit on the last day before Christmas Vacation. The most beautiful part of this year’s Christmas Assembly was the Nativity Scene.
