Virginia 1957 For those who know her not No words can paint, And those who know her Know all words are faint. Dedication For her guidance and wisdom at the most confused mo¬ ments of our lives, for having true strength when we needed her strength, for devotion and dedication to the finest princi¬ ples in life, we, the graduating class of 1957 dedicate, this, our KALEIDOSCOPE, to MARY HELEN BURCH with the full realization that any success which may be ours in years to come may be credited largely to her shining ex¬ ample. Foreword Class of ’57 The years passed so swiftly as you ascended the stairways of learning, and each mem¬ ory becomes more and more a part of you as the years progress. A smile, a word, a fleeting glance - all of these revolve around the thoughts of Hopewell High School. To make these pictures more clear, we, The KALEIDOSCOPE Staff, have tried to capture those moments for you. Each sincere effort of ours has been made with the hope that these cherished thoughts will be yours to keep throughout the years to come. His cheer¬ ful smile and ready service make him a favorite of the annual staff. In appreciation for his faithful work, we name Ray Hash, The Hero of the 1957 KALEIDOSCOPE Staff. Sponsors Present: Recognition Award PAGE DAVIS There is but one virtue -- The eternal sacrifice of self. PATRICIA PITTMAN wm ■ ■ . The last bell has rung, and the halls are strangely quiet. We have turned the last leaf of our book and with it we close the covers of our high school journal. We, the Staff, present this KALEIDOSCOPE to you, the students of Hopewell High School, in behalf of the Class of ' 57, with the hope that the echoes of our voices will linger on in these halls through the pages of our book. If in reading it in years to come, it recaptures some of the memories of this year we have spent together, we will be happy in the realization that we have done job we were called upon to do. 24 Hour Ambulance Services Phone Ce 9-6377 GOULD FUNERAL HOME “Home of Personal Service” 214 North 6th Avenue Hopewell, Virginia Hopewell’s Home for Chevrolet and Oldsmobile Sales - Service DUNNINGTON PIONEER MOTOR COMPANY, INC.
