The purpose of the student council is to voice opinions of the students to the faculty for their approval. The council shall promote assembly programs and vote and pass upon new organizations in the student body with the con- sent of thc faculty. Membership consists of twelveg the secret- ary-trcasurer and president from cach class, and four additional members of the junior and senior classes.. All students and teachers of this high school shall bc considered members of the as- sociation. The grnoral powvrs of this association shall be vested in a council of twelve mcmbors The Superintendent of Schools shall be consid- ered an ax-officio mnmber of the council. Thr council shall make and 'nforce rules ncccssary for tho bettermant of the school, its life, and its interests, to grant charters to its clubs and organizations, to supervise and have final decisions in all matters concerning the extra-curricular activities of the school. Kal It is furthe'-r nrovidfd that any action of the council is subjcct to the veto of the faculty. Kbl It advises the nrasidcnt in the an- pointment of committees. Col It invcstigatfs and reports on mat- ters csoccially rrfarrcd to it by the faculty or administrative offic rs of the school. The activities may be as many or few as the council or association desires. They came into our class in 1950. Then came a gap of four or five years until Goldie Boyer and Maynard Olson entered the seventh grade class room, Helen Indergaard joined as a freshman in '35 and Reid Stromberg in '58 as a junior, Gf course, many who have gone to school with this class are not here now. Included in this group are: Barbara Erstad, Lillian Haugen, Delbert Rhine, Helen and Merle Bakke, and Leslie Johnson - , In their sophomore year the following resigned their memberships in this class Fred Hamaker, Enid Iverson, Ruby Haagason Laurence Epping, James zuenette, and Irvin Benz, Marjorie Bver left the last fall The freshran return party to the sopho mores, who tmeated '- qu te graciously, was given in the sprlng oi 'o6 the high school nd the fa ulty to the fresh men lnitiatlon party 1n the fall of '56 They produc d the Junior class play, 'Good Graclous, urardma,n the proceeds o Wh1Ch were used to sinanee the banquet ard the theatre party, Nay 7, for the entertain ment of the seniors. The origh lnal members are Marion Langager, Mary Ruth Pusher, Dorothy Rickard, Ruth Margery Rygg, James Seidlitz and Doris Vierkandt. Between the years of 1928 and 1958 many students have left the class and just as many have joined. ' The sophomore class of '38 has been very active in all school activities with Ila Boyer, Doris Vierkandt, Betty Jean Stromberg, Dorothy Rickard, and Mary Ruth Pusher in glee club: Mary Ruth Pusher, Ila Boyer, Doris Vierkandt, Bonnie Durland, Sally Brown, Jack Carney, Marshall Careenter, Don Gingrey and Myron Sather in basketballg Betty Jean Stromberg, Jack Carney, Marshall Careenter, Doris Viere kandt, Ruth Margery Rygg, Theodore Kolegrag, and Ila Boyer in bandg Sally Brown, Theodore Kolegraf, Mary Ruth Pusher, Dorothy Rickard, Ruth Margery Rygg, Myron Sather, James Seldlitz, Doris Vierkandt, and Betty Jean Stromberg on the newspaner staff.
