-------------------------------qsiQj As America celebrates its 200th birthday, the 1976 Lions Roar, too, displays the bicentennial spirit. This has been a unique year and should be remembered with pride. We look back on our forefathers and are grateful for what they have given to us. We are granted fights and freedoms which are unheard of in many nations. We enjoy luxuries that are unimaginable to other peoples. We have the greatest nation in the world. Hope High School is the greatest school in the world, too! Our school has given us opportunities to set our goals high. The administration, faculty, and student body have been an inspiration to each of us as an in- dividual. Our annual records for history the many events of our high school days. We, like our forefathers, dare to dream oLa successful future and bright new horizons as we go forth with the Spirit of 76 . m — Denny Wade: Teacher And Friend Denny Wade has become a familiar face around our school. During the course of each day you were likely to catch him jingling down the hall whistling the latest band tunes. High school band enrollment has risen from around to 25 to over 60 during his seven years at Hope. With his help, our community, too, is gaining pride in the band program. Attendance at concerts and various other events has greatly increased. Through his hard work, new uniforms are to arrive for next year. After seven years, we are sorry to have him leave us. But we wish to thank him for what he has contributed to us and we wish him the best of luck in whatever he may do hereafter. For these many reasons we are dedicating the 1976 yearbook to Denny Wade. Briefcase is going-away present. “Pride makes the difference was the philosophy he used to motivate us to work hard. We made many trips and gave numerous performances under his direction. Along with the hard work, we have also enjoyed his classes very much. 2
