DRIFTING THROUGH TIME With our shiny new lunch pails and our brand new books, we entered Hope Grade School in the fall of 1954. The years went fast as we progressed in wisdom, age, and height. As green freshman , we timidly became apart of the fast moving world known as high school. The sophomore and junior years flew by, filled with ball games, the junior play, tests, and new class rings. In the fall of '66, we en- tered high school for our fourth year at Hope High School, not as conceited seniors but rather as perfect seniors. We passed the tests, staged our senior play, danced at Prom, cried at baccalaureate and said our good-byes at graduation. As the seniors of 1967, we give to you our book of memories, as we go DRIFTING THROUGH TIME.

I had a rendezvous with death, I knew not when or where But I had a rendezvous with death, And I was there. I met my God And now I walk with Him Weep not my youthful friend, I shall not die again. As long as there's the sound of youthful laughter, As long as there's tears for youth to shed, Yes, as long as youth has memory, I shall not be dead. The sound of youthful laughter will be the phrase which we, as Rodney's friends, will long remember. We will remember him because he was one of us—he was a lover of fun and good times. We will remember him for his ability to cheer us up when we were in the lowest of spirits. We will remember him because he was a friend to all. We will remember him always. We, the Annual Staff of 1967, dedicate this annual with fondest memories to Rodney Allen Benhardt. 5
