Personal Message by Cecil W. Kuhn Graduation from high school terminates twelve impor- tant years of your lives. These years spent studying, asso- ciating, and competing with fellow students in sports, music, and other activities have helped you to know your capabil- ities and future ambitions. Pause now, only to choose your path into life; the de- cision is yours. Whether you pursue further formal educa- tion or some type of employment, you will find education a continual process. The Board of Education has been privileged, along with your teachers, in helping you attain your present goal. It is now our pleasure to congratulate you seniors, and wish you further success and happiness. CECIL W. KUHN Clerk Board of Education HOWARD L. FRY Director MILTON JACOBSON Treasurer 7

MR. DONALD P. LITTLE Superintendent MRS. LAVERNA WUTHNOW Secretary PERSONAL MESSAGE BY DONALD P. LITTLE My philosophy of education is based upon the needs of young adults in a rapidly changing democratic society. We are continually adding courses of study to keep you abreast of the times. May the changing society and changing world create in you a challenge to succeed and to take advantage of the many opportunities offered to you by education. We strive to fit the school and educational opportunities to your desires and needs. We do not try to fit you to the school. May the benefits be yours. I am keenly interested in the success and welfare of this Senior Class. May I extend to you the heartiest congratulations upon completion of your high school career. 6

Steps make an ascent much easier than climbing a rugged hill without this help. One realizes this when ascending the steps at a spot of nature such as Seven Falls, Colorado. By the use of the steps leading up to the Falls, the ascent is made much easier than it would be to climb the steep mountain side without their help. In high school some of the steps which help us in our climb in life are the classes which help us develop into better family members and citizens. Other classes help prepare us for occupations or professions. Activities, including music and sports, enlarge our interests, teach leadership and dependability, and make life more en- joyable. We anticipate a brighter future be- cause of the four years the class of 1964 have worked and participated in classes and activities in Hope Rural High School. STEPS TO THE FUTURE 8
