We came from all points of the United States to Hope, Kansas. Much has happened since the night we graduated. Priscilla Gravatt, is working as secretary for a Wall Street Broker in New York City, where Donnie is still on the run. Carol Rutz, is now married and is raising a little navy of her own on the U.S.S. Royce. Judy Stroda, was elected Miss Gambles of 1970. We were sorry to hear that she had to give up her title when her five little ones came in to congratulate her. Ila Jo Schultz, who is still unmarried, is operating a modeling school in California. The only difference from her high school days is that Mike has to drive 2400 miles further to see her. Ruth Ann Engle and Judy Davis, are now secretaries at the Air Force Base in Hawaii. They are operating a secret spy ring to keep track of their hubbies. ” They've taken up hula dancing as a side line. We wonder who will be spying on who now? ?? Warren Weber, we were sorry that you couldn't be with us today, but while you were doing some of your fancy roadwork, you were caught by Elmer who is now our county sheriff. Jim Beem, has never quite reconciled himself to the fact that someday he'll have to quit going steady and take the plunge into matrimony. Kenny Ballentyne and Phil Bryant, now are in the barbering business. They need two nurses to patch up their victims. Would you accommodate them Janet and Linda?(They did their cut- ting up in high school quite differently ) Frankie Biehler, is now manager of the Pilsen Starlite Ballroom where he gives dancing lessons. (We've heard about the overtime Frank.) Kenny Bielefeld, instead of drawing pictures on the desks at school, is now a big time artist; drawing pictures on his desk at the White House. He has changed from drawing Donald Duck to Yogie Bear. Mike Scott, we know that your little Ila, has been sick lately; and we know that you are a Veterinarian. Really, wouldn't a doctor be better? Stanley Lauxman, is now managing his own all girl baseball team. He has hopes of bringing the team out of the cellar, if he only uses the right strategy on his girls. Dean Henricks, who now is an agricultural teacher, specializes in raising chickens. I guess we all knew he would end up with some Chick. John Donnelly, who thought cars were just made for souping up, finds out now that the soup goes across the table not under the hood. Gene Schlesener, you have been in the Navy now for 10 years. You still hold the rank of Seaman 3rd Class, after becoming Captain a few times. I guess you want to make a career of it. Linda Smith, is now in Miami Beach, Florida, where she is using her shorthand ability while sitting on her boss's lap. The boss is Danny Smith. She must keep things in the family. Glenna Schlesener, is now the better half in an ownership of the Fuller Brush Co. She keeps her 15 children spotless and clean. Jim Wuthnow, has become a dignified business executive. His work is no longer such a bore with his line of Abilene Chorus Girls as secretaries. Elden Riedy, is still bookkeeper at old Hope High with Mr. Sloan as Principal. It seems he never did spend enough time in the office during high school. (He's still making up time for hunting ducks on school time ) Ilona Provance, is now an expert mechanic. After 11 years, she successfully repairs household equipment after it has been worked over by her mechanic husband. 17 SENIOR CLASS MEETING Planning the Senior Sneak SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS SEATED: Kenny Bielefeld, President; STANDING: Ila Jo Schultz, Stuco. Having an audience to sing for makes music much more enjoyable. The mixed chorus and both glee clubs participated in the vocal clinic in our new D. M. League on February 15 at Solomon. Mr. John Sample from Kansas WesleyanUni- versity was the director there, and an inter- esting and varied program was presented in the evening. All of the groups performed at some time during the year including singing for the upper elementary grades at school, Open House, the Christmas Assembly, Lion's Club, Navarre Community Program, and various church groups. The listeners were always appreciative of the groups they heard perform.
