UOYDZM' A TYPIQA1. JUNIOR DAY Stumbling over books, dropping my pen and pencil, I flop with a thud into my seat just as the 45 bell sounds A reminder from the rear that we are having a test in Business Organization brings me to my senses During devotions, time staggers on, drawing me nearer and nearer to my doom Oh, Fate, what hast thou in store for a little girl who doesn't let studying interfere with her education' The teacher gives me a very kindl smile as I enter the room, making me feel just a wee bit guiltier than before en she begins to hand out the test papers my agony really starts For forty five minutes the brainstorm rages and at las comes the blessed bell releasing me I take four or five steps in the hall and suddenly find myself surrounded 'Did she really give you a test? Oh, my' That means we'll get one oo she in a good humor? Was the test hard? D jew flunk?'Each question is succeeded by wails and groans from the senior class butterflies They are to have Clerical class next period from the same teacher Indeed, they have my most heartfelt symp athy Finally I manage to wade through the crowd to my history class Here under Commander lease we fight the Civil War again I doze the South is gaining her vic tory oh how I would love to be Scarlett 0'Hara with Rhett Butler at my side Oh' the bell Fortunately I have prepared my work for English class I can spend the next period in visiting with my neighbors Just as I start to talk to my neighbor across the aisle, the teacher reminds me that I am supposed to be studying How am I to concentrate on my studies when the noises from the typewriters is so great that I can hardly think about what happened the night before However, with all the competition from the Remingtons and Royals, I manage to tell nearly everyone in the class just with whom I am go ing to the basketball game tonight I am just about to tell my good news to the rest of the class when the bell rings sending me to English class We Juniors are seated and are ready to start class, but the teacher just stands near the radiator and watches the door Why? Oh, yes, those two freshman boys who study in our class always come in with a bang just as the second bell rings The discussion on punctuation starts I'm so glad that I prepared my les son What??Did she say there are fourteen different uses of the comma? I found only three I'm not going to be a writer or a teacher, why should I know that an that parenthetical expressions are set off by commas of that dates The bell' Thank goodness, it is lunchtime After that class need not only some food, but also an aspirin I think that lunch time is about the most delightful part of the day I con- tribute my share of rare and juicy gossip, as usual I always get to school ear ly about 12 20 or 12 30 I am sure to make a tour through the halls to see the bleeding hearts The first thing I see is that a certain young man's fancy ha lightly turned to thoughts of blends' Cgrrrrl I try to shut out such a heart rending sight by buying myself a piece of candy CA Bit of Honey or a lilky Way sometimes helps P The sound of the bell marks the renewal of the eternal grind Feeling some what depressed, I march to physics class Here I perform an experiment on static e1ectricity,only to find out at the end of the class that I have already perform- ed that experiment last week The next period in irls' chorus I am a shinlng light For the first time in my life I hit a high 'A with the greatest of ease But I do think that the remark from that senior with such a superiority complex about my not feeling well is un- called for The teacher is saying something about screeching notes I guess she means the girl beside me Can you imagine my happiness' During the last two periods I studyK?J lhen class is dismissed, I go to the door and wait I see hip approaching without the blond he is going to speak to me can I be dreaming? 'Basketball game tonigh ' ' y yes, sure, I mean surely Isn't school life grand?' I gasped ' . t .
