Still, Randa isn't totally accepted by some members of Band, because she is a girl Drum Major, As Senior Band mem- ber Chris May put it, I think Randa does surprisingly well, for a girl. Randa commented, Sometimes I fell like I have to try harder than the other Drum Majors do. It seems like people won't pay attention to what I say just because I'm a girl. But I'll keep doing my job, which hopefully, if I do it right, will get me some respect. Randa has received respect from Band judges, though. She has led the Band to first place performances at every compe- tition they went to this year. Included is the Band's Grand Sweepstakes at the Vi- salia Band Review. Randa is a very determined girl, when it comes to things like fund-raising. For Band's trip to Washington, she not only raised enough money for herself, but she raised money to send her family and her Rodney Doyle Thai Duong Ernie Duran Leroy Duran WOR grandparents along. From the opening note of New York Fantasy to the spectacular ending of What Kind of Fool Am I , Randa Cowart did a terrific job! Lucille Easter vvi' -r Q if

End Of School Year Brings Happy Memories And Forgettable Moments No more having to wake up earlier than the crack of dawn for another three months. Wow! Yes our Junior year has come to an end and what a year it has been. Remember the first day as Juniors, and Kg... i J' .- 'df X how superior we felt to the incoming Soph- omores. We gave them the same old treat- ment we got as sophomores. Most Juniors will probably remember teasing the Sopho- mores as a fun part of school. Of course, being a Junior was not always fun and games. Remember the PSAT test on October 27th. Those Juniors who did take it probably found the first three or four problems easy, but discovered it went downhill from there. Taking History was another not so enjoy- able part of being a Junior. Some Juniors did like History, while the majority could not read a History book for longer than ten minutes at a time. The classtime gave stu- dents a chance to nap once in a while and pass notes to keep up with the latest gossip. Being a Junior also meant having a driv- er's license and not having to walk to school everyday. It was also the last year we are required to take P.E. Well, in the end, the great time we had as Juniors probably outweighed the bad and we'll miss being a Junior. Senior year will be even better. We can look forward to being the top students of the school, and maybe we'll still be teasing the new sophomores and maybe juniors. Watch out, Hoover, we're Seniors now! JUNIOR JIMMY GEORGE finally opens his history textbook. .W . S - , A , .5 J' , ' at Q A X Y 1 - ef a nil 553 ax as i u 1 'rf AAO LJ T? az' SYN' ' r ,gi .Ml . I , .
