Tradition Suriya Jeyapalan strives for perfection with every hit. Carol Boline goes for the gusto while astounding her opponent. The Hoover Girls' Tennis Team has a tradition of win- ning. For the past two years, the team has placed second in the NYL and second in the Valley. Compiling a 31 win 6 loss record. The 1982 version was no exception to this winning spirit. Returning seniors Carol Boline and Susan Davis added strength and leadership to this young team. All members worked hard to obtain a closeness that teams rarely exhibit. To earn money for equipment and uniforms the team sponsored a Tennis-A-Thon. All members sought out pledges and played ten straight hours of tennis! l Pates Swing For The Green The Hoover Golf Team this year is led by Senior veteran John Kutumian. He is a solid mature golfer who should do well through out the season. Slow starting senior Mike Kasparian may prove to be a winner late in the season during the League Finals. The Varsity in general will struggle to finish in the top three. The J .V. Team is lucky to have 6 sophomores who have golf ex er- ience. They are led by two tough competitors, Jeff Brown and Lance Ca el. Look for the J.V.'s to emerge as a powerful force in 3 years!
