Did I really hit it that far? I can't believe I did it. FRISKY, EW, ugh, 100k at that dirty little thing. You expect me to hit that? This year's Boys' Tennis Team worked together courageously with their talent and spirit bringing them out on top. They were the best on the court, running so fast to show a good game that they could have caught their shorts on fire. They can even stop on a dime and give you nine cents change when it comes to playing a good game. The team really swung into action this year, showing with a stroke of genius that tennis is their racket! ttop, l to rl- Coach Joey Chevalier, Gavin Nishioka, Mike Inouye, Dan Taylor, Todd Snedden, Kenny Hubach, Jeff Schneider, Gary Liao, Coach Tom Smykal. Tradition Suriya Jeyapalan strives for perfection with every hit. Carol Boline goes for the gusto while astounding her opponent. The Hoover Girls' Tennis Team has a tradition of win- ning. For the past two years, the team has placed second in the NYL and second in the Valley. Compiling a 31 win 6 loss record. The 1982 version was no exception to this winning spirit. Returning seniors Carol Boline and Susan Davis added strength and leadership to this young team. All members worked hard to obtain a closeness that teams rarely exhibit. To earn money for equipment and uniforms the team sponsored a Tennis-A-Thon. All members sought out pledges and played ten straight hours of tennis! Third year Coach Karen Sowby works the team hard and expects a lot from her players, but with such a suc- cessful record to uphold nothing less would be acceptable to the coach or the team members. 1 Girls' Tennis Of Wi ning Back row, L-R5 Carol Konlande, Jenny Unruh, Susan Davis, Sherri Girogosian, Laur Tracy.
