JP, UP HERE! Murray Wilson is hanging from the lights n. J, ' . Q. . Ti f' . ' N.. , ll ' Q., , , . W .- lr' Harris, Murray Wilson. Camera shy: Stephanie Reistetter, Gloria Parke, Amy Ogata. Hoover Patriot Divers: Left to right. Lisa Balzer, Piet Ogata, Nancy Pennington, Lisa Gray, James Stuart, OPEN ARMS!!! That great song by Journey has James Stuart trying his imitation. The 1982 Hoover Patriot Diving Team made quite a splash this year! Every day after school, this talented group of divers could be seen out in the pool, practicing for the intense upcoming meets. Al- though Diving is a relatively new sport at Hoover, and one which isn't too well known, many students were interested, which certainly put a smile on Coach Su- san Shirk's face. A few of the top Patriot Divers this year included Murray Wilson and returnees Lisa Balzer and Nancy Pennington. This is excellent news for Coach Shirk, because all three are Ju- niors, and will be returning to the team next year. Many people don't know it, but Hoover's Diving meets go hand in hand with the Pate Swimming meets. Without the Divers, the Swimming Team wouldn't be as successful, since the two team scores are added together to achieve an overall swim meet Champi- on! The team's Patriot Pride and tre- mendous spirit won out, as the team had a successful season. Congratulations and good luck to a fine group of excellent divers! Diving 1 2 1

Did I really hit it that far? I can't believe I did it. FRISKY, EW, ugh, 100k at that dirty little thing. You expect me to hit that? This year's Boys' Tennis Team worked together courageously with their talent and spirit bringing them out on top. They were the best on the court, running so fast to show a good game that they could have caught their shorts on fire. They can even stop on a dime and give you nine cents change when it comes to playing a good game. The team really swung into action this year, showing with a stroke of genius that tennis is their racket! ttop, l to rl- Coach Joey Chevalier, Gavin Nishioka, Mike Inouye, Dan Taylor, Todd Snedden, Kenny Hubach, Jeff Schneider, Gary Liao, Coach Tom Smykal.
