THE HOOVER CAM U My name is Luc Vandermeulen. I'm 18 years old and a senior here. I'm an exchange student and I'm spending the schoolyear 80-81. I come from Belgium, my town selt is only 70 miles northeast of Brussels, the captial of Belgium. I was undecided about what I should do after high school in Belgium. I had a cousin who spent a year in Boston and he had a wonderful time. So I made the decision to go away for one year. I had to leave my friends and give up a lot of what meant safety and under- standing to me. I wanted to take that chance because I knew that I would never have such an opportunity again. In my stay, I never regretted that I took this fantastic chance to be with all i of you. I have to thank you, itis more than you'll ever know. I have great teacher, they taught me a lot of things and English of course. Each teacher has a lot of different systems too. I like my teachers, classmates, and the school is pretty and big. Sometimes, our teachers and classmates makes us develope and I believe that from them we can achieve our goals. Pamela L. FOREIGN GUESTS I came to this coutry six months ago, to a place where I al- ways have wanted to come to, California! I came to Fresno and found that it can be pretty hot here out in the boonies. I also came here to experience a totally different school system, but a school system that I really like. The free choices of classes and the fine combination of school and sports, and with such a great spirit that you shall be proud of. I have never played in such a terrific marching band as the Hoover Patriot band before. Hoo- ver High school with all their wonderful students and teachers, some of them I will never forget. My family that has been so kind to me, without them I would have missed a lot of funny, exciting and good experiences. Lasse Westling Lasse Westling, Sweden My name is Martha Caprioli.
