S T 'A i ff' R, .s A - r c The Hoover l.V. volleyball team had a very good season. Win- ning all their games except two, they tied Clovis for the NYL. Coached by Mary Yarborough, the team improved more in every game. The girls all got along well and many are returning next year to defend the title. 'f:..,,', 1 fa-'yi XP!! .I , r - - i Who's the best? HHS!! The varsity water polo team showed their stuff to prove it. Coming back this year stronger than ever, the Pates treaded on to NYL victory! With so many terrific players on the team, the opponents had little chance to get past Hoover. The Patriots, with skill and effort, downed Clovis by beating them in their own pool, being the first school to ever do so. With great coach- ing from Dale Hammel and assistant Dave Gleason, Hoo- ver's H20 poloists captured the NYL Title and placed sec- ond in the valley, finishing the season with 21-4 overall. Congratulations, Pate poloists, for a job well done! 35
