The Yearbook Staff of Hoosick Falls Central School presents 1975-76 Memories in words and pictures in Vagabond II FORWARD 1976 is the year of our country’s 200th birthday. We as high school students may not realize the im- portance of this year. It marks the anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. Think how differentThe world’s'history would be without 1 tE|e U.S.A.! We have served as examples of the use of the principles of democracY goverhm£tt f figQtA ££ years. Movements such as women’s rights, civil rights, and free love have started here. have paved the way for further development in the areas of science, technology, and space exploration. FThe seniors graduating from high school will go out into the world and play fheir individual parts in making the present futuri history. m Table Of Contents Administration.................. Mr. Waterhouse Mr. Leonard Dedication The 1975-76 Vagabond II staff dedi- cates this year’s yearbook to MR. PECK- HAM. The staff recognizes Mr. Peck- ham’s contribution to Hoosick Falls Central School both in the classroom and in all of his extracurricular work. His vibrant personality and dedication in the classroom contributes to a mean- ingful educational experience to all students associated with him. Mr. Peckham’s contribution to the produc- tion of Vagabond II throughout the year’s has been overwhelming. Often his expertise and guidance has gone unnoticed, but without his assistence the quality of H.F.C.S. would not be where it is. His many hours beyond school time taking and developing pictures is noteworthy. He is often found developing pictures after school, evenings, and during vacations. It is because of these reasons that we feel Mr. Peckham deserves this token of our graditude. RECOLLECTIONS I Remember Happier Days. Carefree, Love-Filled, Beautiful Days With A Friend At My Side. Laughter Overflowing, Smiles Pervading Consciousness, Pleasure Overcoming pain. I Remember Time Has Conquered. Days Thought Never To Have Come Have Slipped Away. Memories Are All That’s Left But They’ll Be Treasured, Loved, And Relived Thousands Of Times Over. The Future Will Make More Anne Leeseman SENIORS This year's Senior class holds a special place in time. They will be among the hundreds of others around the country who will be graduated in this year of 1976, our country's bicentennial. The year's activities included a very successful magazine drive, in which the Seniors set a re- cord in money raised, the Senior Prom, and the annual Senior trip. As they leave H.F.C.S. and take their places in the world, we wish for them all the happiness and success that lne can provide, and hope they take with them fond memories of H.F.C.S. 8 SEATING: Lis Pedersen—Secretary, Stew Peckham—President, Jane Kipp--Vice-President, Laurie McCabe— Treasurer. As the season progressed the offense overcame its slug- gish beginning to keep the Hoosiers in most of their games. The defense played a consistently fine game throughout the season. The season was highlighted by a heartbreaking 8-6 loss to the eventual Super Bowl winner, St. Mary's of Glens Falls. Tom Folgert and Keith LaPorte were selected to the con- ference all-star team. With a blending of seasoned veterens and a fine J.V. squad, 1976 should be a respectable year. VARSITY FOOTBALL HOOSICK FALLS OPPONENT 6 St. Mary 8 6 St. Peters 24 0 'Ft. Although the sea- son was one of losses, there are many improved runners return- ing next year. Cross country is a sport combining individual talents working into team points. The Panthers finished the reason with an overall record of 5-4, but their 5-1 league record was good enough to secure a sectional berth. Once in the sectionals, the girls defeated the 9th and 2nd ranked teams in the early rounds. In the semi-finals the Hoosiers scored a decisive 4-2 victory over Granville, avenging two previous los- ses this year. The Panthers lost to Cambridge in the finals, completing their year with an 8-5 record and the runner up in Section II.
