Our superintendent of schools, Mr. Philip Leonard, has got to be the busiest man in the school system. In addition to his ap- pearances at board meetings, he must work out a budget for our multi-million dollar school. This year he had the additional prob- lem of dealing with the con- struction of our new addition. Although Mr. Leonard is rarely seen about the school, it's com- forting to know that he is there working for us. 0 HjL JyUrUflLt' 4 yvisrYLtMs UL iruf aJ -tjU. Our high school principal, Mr. William Water- house, has more contact with the students than any other member of the administration. He has the duty of insuring that matters run smoothly in the high school and the unpleasant task of watchdog for unruly students. Together with these jobs he also presides over assemblies, acts as one of the Student Council advisors, and is the National Honor Society advisor. Mr. Stempek, whom we all remember from our grade school days, is largely out of contact with the high school student population. His duties include working out financial problems, substituting for absent teachers, and, of course, keeping order. We can be assured that each new class entering the high school really knows where it's at with this kind of administration. Board Members: LEFT TO RIGHT: FIRST ROW: H Harrison, D Miner, C. A time comes when a closeness grows in a person— A closeness that encompasses his soul, the world, God. It is a time when his life expands, but his spirit encloses it. He feels strength and understanding in a sense he can't comprehend. There is a bond he forms with mankind in that he sees the blending and contrasting of life's miracles. He feels the elements of conscience, and he responds to comprehension and incomprehension. He experiences awe and frustration. There is suddenly a thankfulness within him that he must express, and a tremendous wish to explore and share the world. His life pitches forth and throws new light on values and goals •that no matter how young or naive are the basis of idealism and goodness that he needs to uplift him. This metamorphosis is as old as mankind itself, yet we stand in awe of such creation of character. Never will this process be altered as long as the universe preserves the soul of man. —Sue Carl
