There is no easy road to education. Like many important things, it comes through sincere and diligent efforts. One hears more and more that the pressures on today's students far surpass those of any other period of our history. This, unfortunately, is all too true. Extra learning requires extra study, and because of this, coupled with the fast pace at which the educational system oper- ates, exhausted students often turn to daydreaming. Many teach- ers understand this and try not to be severe with a student whose concentration has strayed. School is not, however, completely devoid of fun. Most of the pleasure comes not from classes and courses, but rather from the people within the system. A certain faculty member's keen sense of humor, a popular class or teacher's joke shared by the stu- dents, the anticipated freedom when the final bell rings on Fri- days, the comfortable feeling of being with friends — these all help to relieve the tensions in the students' school lives. Such pleasantries aid a student to free his mind of burdens and per- haps dream - and thus create the golden high school memories that graduates will treasure forever.
