Bradford Cole has a very busy yearly scehdule. Made up of students in grades seven through twelve, this group meets five times weekly for full rehearsal, in addition to each student attending a regularly scheduled music lesson in a class of like instruments. This Band breaks down into a smaller group during football season, and plays for all of the home football games. At Christmas time the group participates in the annual Christmas program in addition to small carolling groups. There is the regular music program at the Hoosick Grange which the Senior Band did this year. The Band was well represented in the sectional All-State held at the Ichabod Central School this year. The Band also participates in the annual sectional Music Contest-Festival sponsored by the New York State School Music Association. A big Spring Concert and the annual Memorial Day Parade plus High School Graduation usually finishes off the year. This year the Band has been especially successful as a result of last summer's Music Program. The Junior Band of the school serves as a preparatory group for the Senior Band. All in all, it has been a very successful year. However, an unfortunate experience eliminated five of the first string players. This caused a drop in team morale as well as putting us on the losing end of the scoreboard for the remainder of the season. The experience gained last year may well be an advantage for the team this year. porti Under the leadership of Miss Kemler the G. A. C. girls have had a successful year in soccer and basketball. Though a winning team in spirit and determination, we didn't show up well on the scoreboard due to bad breaks and injuries. The Band this year, the largest ever, rehearses three times weekly in the Music room of the Main Street School. Composed of students in grades five through eight, the Junior Band is beginning to be nearly as busy a group as the Senior Band. This group played for the annual Halloween parade, the annual school Christmas program, the Spring Concert, participated in the Contest-Festival sponsored by the New York State School Music Association, and the annual Memorial Day parade as well as some other smaller parades. Junior High Graduation culminated the years program for this group. The summer Music Program sponsored by the Board of Education is responsible for the success of this group this year. It is hoped that such a program will be run this forthcoming summer. rcĀ« s a .: i 5. 'S l IA lmlL'. DVERT [fc IS i , J A1 S.J.'
