lf aim? awww CLASS HISTORY One September day rn 1940 a small arrplane took off m the realm of Hoople Publrc School w1th thlrteen occupants lNot bemg used to flylng they salled 1n the more serene stretches of the sunny a1r for the next two years durmg wh1ch trme they stopped to take on two more pasengers The fourth year the craft stopped long enough to permlt Ioyce to board Gradually the a1r currents grew sw1fter Clllflflg the f1fth xear but they worked manfullv and by the t1me they had been under wav sxx years they had a llttle crew numbermg flfteen For th1s mrddle part of the xoyage a transfer was made to a larger and more durable craft as now the members had grown by var1ous means to be slxteen 1n number and the gomg was more d1ff1cult At the end of the next two years of trax el they were glven passports whrch entltled them to contmue thelr voyage on the good l1ner HOOPLE HIGH and desp1te the loss of some of the earher crew members the number was a good elex en Nova they were embarked on a long trrp of four years and many were the gales and storms they were to weather before the a1rplane would brmg them safely 1nto AIRPORT GRADATION Durrng the thlrd year the w1nds blew harder and the storms became more frequent but at the end of the year they had lost only one member H1ldegard Lee Now rn the last year the wmds blew fllI'lOL1SlV and tremendously and many a tlme the crew wondered rf the could weather the gales for the months re malnlng At the end of the xear the xovage had ben completed wrth n1ne of the ten remarmng from the or1g1nal occupants of the plane and now they see before them an even larger murney and the nlane that each lS to take has not been de termlned but each looks back upon the voyage 1ust completed and thlnks wrth longing of the good times that the past twelve years have yielded ,
