November 7th and 8th the Hoopeston-East Lynn Drama Club Thespians presented the play “Flowers for Algernon.” Set in modern- day New York, the play depicted the life of Charlie Gordon, a retarded adult who became part of an experiment with a laboratory mouse named Algernon to increase his mental abilities. Although the experiment ultimately failed, Charlie learned valuable lessons about love and trust. Flowers for Algernon 24
