It was such o good yeor that we the staff, decided to title If Solid Gold.” Once we chose our theme, ideas started popping into our heods on how to integrate the Solid Gold rheme into our yearbook. We hove hod o Solid Gold yeor The school yeor hos flown by so fast that it seems os if we were sitting on top of o record ployer that wos spinning of top speed As teenogers in high school, o big port of our lives centers oround the music we listen to. The type ond style we enjoy often describes our personalities, whether it be rock, classical, country or pop We associate our experiences, opportunities ond good times with the songs that ore populor during these years. In five, ten, or even fifteen years, we moy heor o song ond remember oil of the good experiences of our younger days. We will remember the years 1964 ond '65 for mony reasons. Whot come to our minds first about our Solid Gold yeor wos our Third Place Store Basketball Teom. This event will stand out in our lives os one to cherish forever. Another reason rhot we will remember this yeor is becouse it starred two valedictorians. Mony seniors were olso awarded with high honors. Further- more. we ore acknowledging five graduates in the doss of 65 who were the lost students to attend grode school or the Eosr Lynn school house. Superintendent, Leo C. Huffmon Secretory to Superintendent, Miss Noomi Alkire We dedicote this 1985 Picoyune to retiring Superintendent Mr. Leo C. Huffmon ond Miss Noomi Alkire who together hove contributed over 83 yeors of service to Community Unit School District 11. Mr. Huffmon hos worked for the district for 36 yeors, ond Miss Alkire, 47. They were honored of o reception ot the First Presbyterion Church of Hoopesron on Sundoy Moy 19th. Pointings of the high school ond the three grode schools were presented os gifts to Mr. Huffmon. They were pointed by Koren Kopko.
