Dedicated to the Memory of Our Jr lend and Jellow Classmate— Kelley OUR CHERI Full of love and smiles and glee. We called her “Our Cheri,” An Irish lass, with a French girl’s name, She came from a large family. Laughter was in her smile, A bounce was in her step. Lots o’ love was in her heart, For many friends she kept. Full of life and joy she shared, Sparkling eyes and silken hair, God knew what joy she’d add up there, So He took her in His loving care. Weep not for her, dear ones, She has found her place in the sun. Always remember as years pass by thee, Life is much sweeter, having known “Our Cheri”. 2

LEO C. HUFFMAN Superintendent Bradley University, University of Col- orado; B.S. and M.S. University of Illinois JOHN F. GRIFFIN Principal B.S., A.S., Oklahoma State University; M.S. Ed., Eastern Illinois University To the Students of Hoopeston High: Hopefully this has been a year of increasing knowledge and understanding for all of us. As you turn the pages of this book, may they recall many rewarding experiences and remind you of your many friendships. Best wishes to you, the graduating Seniors, in all your future endeavors. Continue to strive for success and give of your best in all that you do. Sincerely, Leo Huffman, Superintendent To the Seniors: I sincerely trust that your high school years have in some small way helped to equip you for meeting the challenges of to- day’s society. When there is so much emphasis on radicalism, drug addiction, generation gap, etc.—may you through critical thinking find the inspiration to meet these challenges. May you realize the importance of individual, social and political respon- sibility. May you not lose sight of God and the right way. To the Underclassmen: I would admonish you to strive for better future years. May you always be cognizant that much good can be had just for the taking. John F. Griffin Principal MISS NAOMI ALKIRE Secretary to Superintendent MRS. WINONA SHERIDAN Secretary to Principal
