Senior Class Mistory Through many problems and a long difficult struggle, we, the Class of “69”, have gained our title as up- perclassmen as we reached our last year at H.H.S. We first exhibited our role when we captured Grand Prize with “Death Row” in the Homecoming Pa- rade. Dianne Hoagland reigned beautifully as our Queen with Jeanette Ramsey, Judy Brockway, and Marga- ret Rosendorff as her attendants. Leading the Seniors throughout the year were Mr. Lobb and Mr. Matta, our sponsors, and our class of- ficers: Kevin Odle, president; Gary Brown, vice-president; Dianne Hoagland, secretary; and Frances Reed, treasurer. Our student council representatives were: Brenda Anderson, Judy Brockway, Janice Franklin, Jeanne Law, Frances Reed, Margaret Rosendorff, Robyn Young, Mike Bane, Larry Morts, Bill Petersen, Eric Sheag- ley, Dave Timmons. Realizing the need of leadership among youth today, we elected Bill Gholson, President; Marie Layden, Vice-Presi- dent; Joan Reckner, Secretary; and Debbie Tullis, Treasurer to be the officers of our class. Ellen Martin, Marie Layden, Darlene Reed, Tim McBride, Bill Gholson, and Butch Drollinger were chosen as our Student Council representatives. The year would not have been a success without such sponsors as Mr. Block and Mr. Reynolds. During Homecoming activities, we were proud of our attendants, who were Ellen Martin and Darlene Reed. We were equally proud of our “Defeat Machine” which took a third place in float competition in the parade. Cheering us on in all Sports were Margie Layden, Linda Hunt, Joan Reckner, Darlene Reed, and Marie Layden. Memorial To the community, the death of Sandy Gooden was a severe shock; to his family, a tragic loss; and to Hoopeston High School a somber happening. Therefore it is with mingled feelings of grief and sorrow that we, the Picayune Staff, make this memorial to Sandy Gooden. 60 SENIOR Student Council Members First Row: Bill Peterson, David Timmons, Buddy Young, Eric Sheagley, Larry Morts, Mike Banc.
