THE SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We of the Class of 1966 have finally reached the last of our years in high school. Our journey has at times seemed long and hard, but most of the time it has been filled with good times and happy memories. We started the year by electing our class officers--Dan Reed, President; Roger Long, Vice-President; Lynne Carter, Secretary; and Debbie Lane, Treasurer. Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Repp were our sponsors. This year has included many memorable events for the Seniors such as Homecoming, College Day, Senior Week, and Honors Day. Beth Sheagley was our Homecoming Queen, with Maria Silva and Joanne Timmons as the Senior attendants. We are proud of the many members of our class who re- ceived various honors throughout the year. The Seniors were well represented this year on the athletic teams and in the school's many clubs and organizations. Representing our class on the Student Council were Janet Grether, Toni Huber, Maria Silva, Carolyn Webb, Jed Holt, Mike Martin, and Dan Reed. The Senior cheerleaders were Carolyn Webb and Jill Barber. Twenty-one members of our class were enrolled in the D. O. Program. As our class flower we chose the yellow rose. Our motto is Today we are led, tomorrow we lead. We feel that it expresses our hopes and ambitions for the future, and we think the Class of 1966 is one of which Hoopeston High School can be proud. 15
