OFFICERS President Michael Frazier Vice-President Wayne Carter Secretary Jerry Cox Treasurer Ronnie Longest Junior Class Story Electing class officers began the Junior Class year. Mike Frazier was elected pres- ident; Wayne Carter vice-president; Jerry Cox secretary, and Ronnie Longest treasurer. Our sponsors were Mrs. Means (first semester), Mrs. Malady (second semester), and Mr. Galloway. Linda Silver served as secretary of Student Council. Janice Collier, Barbara Cat- ron, Mike Frazier, Bob Welty, and Frank Young represented the class on the council. The junior Homecoming attendants were Donna Ferrel and Joyce Jordan. Our float, Have Ball Will Travel,” won third prize. The class sold magazines to finance the Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet. We chose a Hawaiian theme which turned out to be a great success. To add the finishing touch to being upper-classmen, our class rings arrived. For the crest we chose a large H which had an ear of corn, representing the Cornjerkers, in the center. Melvin Lockhart and Marilyn Harth were chosen junior candidates for king and queen oftheF.H.A. Valentine Dance. Five of our classmates were elected to National Honor Society. They were Mike Frazier, Susie Smith, Elaine Fleisser, Betty Nelson, and Joyce Jordan. Hoopeston High School cheerleaders were all members of the junior class. Jani Brockway, Cassie Dahlquist, Barb Catron, Lindy Marshall, and Kay Longfellow did a fine job of cheering our team during the football and basketball seasons. Elaine Goss was chosen by the American Field Service to go to Germany for eleven weeks this summer. Other junior candidates for this program were Betty Nelson, Susie Smith, and Ross Fetters. Our class made a fine showing in many of the school activities this year, as well as having a wonderful time. Next year we are hoping to have an even more successful year.
