THIRD ROW: K. Krohn, S. Peters, V. Weber, J. Hargens, Vocal Music On December 23, 1960, the vocal groups presented a Christmas Music Program. The groups participating were the Girls' Glee, the Boys’ Glee, and the Mixed Chorus. When the Platte Valley Music Clinic was held at Hooper, the Girls' Triple Trio and the Mixed Chorus represented the Hooper Music Department. At the District Music Contest held in Wahoo, the Boys' Octet, Girls' Glee, Girls' Triple Trio, and the Mixed Chorus repre¬ sented Hooper with very high ratings. The ratings were: Boys' Octet- 1, Girls' Glee-2, Girls' Triple Trio-2, and the Mixed Chorus received a 1. On May 2, 1961, the Music Department held its Spring Music Program. The groups of vocal music who participated were the Boys' Octet, the Girls' Glee, the Girls' Triple Trio, and the Mixed Chorus. Several community appearances were presented by the Girls' Triple Trio and the Boys' Octet. The band, directed by Mr. David Mullin, has had a very busy year. In October the band made a trip to Grand Island to the Har¬ vest of Harmony where they marched in the parade. Later, in December, the band presented a band concert. Several members of the band attended a band clinic at Tekamah in the spring. April 20th the band went to District Music Contest at Wahoo where they were rated a III. On May 1, the band presented the spring concert in which they played their contest numbers and several others.
