Senior Might, April 27 , turned out to be just as funny as it was fun. The program included a dialogue and a monologue by little girls, The Gary Less Show, a scene at Mac Duffy ' s Tavern with a real Polka Band, some Oriental Dancers, a musical act-up, a pantomime, and a playgirl who bothered the M.C. Even the commercials were hilarious. The only serious part of the program was at the end, when the class will was read and the entire Senior class joined in the singing of Halls Of Ivy. An innocent young girl named Hildegarde is trying to attract a date for the Prom by winning the school debate. Her mother fears she may miss the big dance, so arranges a date. Hildegarde is in ecstasy although she doesn ' t know the boy ' s name, she lays it on thick—until the prospective date sounds like a Hollywood star. But her mother has picked the one boy in school who wears knickers! He ' s a swell guy, but those short pants make him the joke of the school. Hildegarde learns the truth and pleads to break the date, but Father is mad. Furthermore, the knicker- attired date, Freddie, is the son of Father ' s boss. Father, worried about his job, invites his boss home to prove how sensible his family is. But Hildegarde, her face smeared with beauty clay, dashes screaming into the room. Then Freddie bursts into the room with long pants and Hildegarde ' s brother tackles the boss by mistake. But all works out, for Freddie gets a new suit. The curtain closes as Hildegarde and Freddie leave for the Prom. All will agre e the Junior class presented a very delightful play. Sneak Day X: This was Sneak Day. The seniors left at 5:00 a.m. for Omaha. On the way down, they stopped for breakfast and for a tour of Boys Town. The rest of the day was filled with a trip to a radar control tower, lunch at the Town House, tour through KMTV Studios and a stop-off in the business district. The Fireside Restaurant was the scene of the evening meal, and the Orpheum Theater pro¬ vided entertainment for the evening. 48
