Each librarian is trained in indexing, processing, book repairing, and serving at the main desk. The Omaha Public Power Co. has donated the new desk, which has answered our need for more space. Special reference materials have been added to our stacks this year. Non-book materials and a five-year Maga-file of periodicals are proving valuable in the preparation of research papers. The Journalism Class published an edition of the Cardinal Confidential every two weeks. The paper contained an editorial, senior sketches, sports, a feature, and gossip. The Student Council sponsored a variety of events this year. To raise funds for donating half of the prize money to prize winning floats at the Homecoming Parade, they gave a Sadie Hawkins Dance. They also sponsored a locker clean-up and guided parents at the Parent-Teacher Conferences. Rural Eighth Grade Day was held May 16 to acquaint eighth grade pupils with high school routine. Their sponsor for this year was Mr. Johnson. Bunny Hop, anyone ? ? ? ?

The Hooper F.F.A. completed another year of fine work under the supervision of Mr. Elton Reinmiller, first semester; and Mr. Roland Peterson, second semester. They took part in the following events to round out a busy year: the National F.F.A. Convention at Kansas City, Soil Judging at Wayne, Livestock Judging at Wisner, Livestock Judging at Sioux City, Livestock Judging, Fremont, District Contest at Pender, and the State F.F.A. Convention at Lincoln. At the State F.F.A. Convention, Howard Licht, president of the Hooper Chapter, was elected State F.F.A. President. Other awards received were: Supe¬ rior Chapter rating, red ribbon in farm safety, the farm safety award from the Omaha Chamber of Com¬ merce, and the corn picker Gold Emblem of safety.
