Revision of the con¬ stitution and cooperation with school policies fea¬ tured the 1959-60 school year for the Pep Club. Combination member¬ ship and attendance cards facilitated a check-up for points earned. Attendance at away-from-home games was increased because of the use of the school bus and school-sponsored cars. The Honor Society sponsored the Honor Convocations every six weeks. They also sponsored a Christmas Dance and made a float for the Homecoming Parade. The annual tapping ceremony was held May 10th. New members are as follows: Neal Von Seggern, Doris Peters, Gerald Hoegermeyer, Bennie Moll, Diane Otteman, Janice Sprick, Darlene Wobken, Jerri Janssen, Donna Bartling, Sue Corbin, Paul Kolm, Ken Meier, Bonnie Schole, Jane Schole, Virginia Wagner, Vaudine Weber, Robert Carlson, and Jeannine Fellows. Queen Cynthia and King Ron First Prize Winner I could have danced all night One of the outstanding high-lites of the school year at Hooper High is Homecoming which took place on November 6, 1959. The Homecoming started with a parade through downtown Hooper featuring floats made by the classes and other class organizations. First prize of $15 went to the F.F.A., second prize of $10 went to the Sophomore class, and third prize of $5 went to the Junior class. The queen candidates: Cynthia Mintken, Joanie Liston, Carolyn Moore, Lila Bartling, and Shirley Havekost; and the King candidates: Ron Moll, Dan Schaulis, Lyman Larsen, and Jerry Dorfmeyer, rode in the parade in two colorful convertibles. Following the game the annual Homecoming Dance was held. The candidates walked through an isle of Pep Club girls up to the stage where the 1958 King and Queen: Gary Nott and Karen Havekost crowned the King and Queen of 1959 — Ron Moll and Cynthia Mintken.
