Who among us has not, on some clear and starry night, stared into the vastness ofspace and wondered what that experience would be like? It has been man's dream almost since time began, the vision of scientists like Russials Konstantin Ziolkovsky who wrote these lines in 1899 The earth is the cradle of the mind, but one cannot live forever in a cradle, To set foot on the soil of the asteroids, to life by hand a rock from the moon . . . Now suddenly, fha dream has rome true! That event - the moon landing - is very likely the most exciting, the most dramatic single event in our lifetime. It will rank along-side from manls discovery of Hre to the Hssion of the atom. With the moon landing, our world and our destiny will no longer be locked to one planet, our world will be all space, our destiny as broad and as challenging as all the universe! 9 With this triumphant moment - we exult in the production of the HORNETS' NEST OF 1970 to savor, to re- live again and again, the many exciting events of the year of the Trip to the Moonf, 1 Co-Business Managers Ronnie Cagle Shannon Sexton 5 far? args . .KN any 'R if . it e e 'f f ' ,1-, f is ' ww MQW' fines., Mr. and Min HHS al. As we charter members of the 1970 Senior Class of Hooks High School go forth into the world, we hope to bounce back good reflec- tions and to be leaders in America.
