' Pxo t ieccf It was on a late spring evening that we were invited to the home of Robert Worthington for :cr tenth year class reunion. I arrived a few minutes early and being in a rather reminiscent meed. I strolled leisurely through the garden gate and down the path. It was truly a beautiful tattten and I paused to admire the pretty spring flowers. Pulling a rose from a nearby bush and -t mming it, I began picking off the petals as I recalled each of my classmates during our senior rear and wondered how greatly they had changed since I had last seen them. But suddenly I came rack to reality when I heard a loud peal of laughter and I hurried to see what was happening. I was greeted by my host and hostess, Robert and his wife. He had taken over his father’s easiness and apparently was doing quite well for he had built a handsome home and this garden was certainly an asset to any man. Suddenly my attention was drawn to a little huddle near the fountain: I might have known-- bachelor, and wealthy too, Robert Earl Carraway and car dealer, Louis Creech were discussing cars, Chevrolet versus Ford. Listening to the discussion was Billy Carraway and his wife, Neta; they tell me they are very happily married, have two children and are living in Kinston and Billy is working at DuPont. Then there was Ethleen and Roland talking to Aldine and Alvin. It seems that Ethleen did marry Roland and she is assisting him in his church work. Aldine is strictly housewife and she and Alvin are living in their new modem home in Hookerton. We were chattering lightly when we heard a terrible noise and we ran to the garden g ate to see what had happened, and then we all laughed for it was Patricia and Bobby White on that bad Model-T ' ' eight-ball Ford and their children yelling and screaming, boy what a time! While the dust was settling and the smoke cleared away I gazed down Highway 123 and who should I see but Nathan and Charlie walking this way. I didn’t count the number of stripes those two were wearing, but I can never recall seeing so many before. I asked them what they had been doing and Nathan replied, We have just finished shining up our Jets. As I started back I saw my old friend Bobby Jones and his wife, a striking young lady from Winston Salem, where Bobby is assistant manager of Reynolds Tobacco Company. Everyone settled down and began telling each other what they had been doing, when our host called everyone ' s attention and introduced Yours truly, Curtis Daniels, as comedian and entertainer for the evening.
