u - - TRIP AND GRADUATION CLIMAX SENIOR YEAR - Remember the fall of 1953? VVe elected Larry XVhis- man. Terry Kocher. Donna Fisher. and Bob Combs as our president. vice-president. secretary. and treasurer. Mr. Helsing was selected to be the sponsor of our class of S4 students. The only source of income was our class dues. At the beginning of the second semester. Mr. Helsing left due to illness and Mr. Spielman then took over the task of guiding us. Returning for our sophmore year. we choose 21s class officers John Altenberg. president: Dick Reedy. yice-prcs- idcntg Ruthanne VVcnsel. secretary: and Donna Fisher. treasurer. VVe made a float for Homecoming, and we had two concessions, a turn-about dance. and class dues. The highlight of the year was our carnival. which added S250 to the treasury. We also had paper and scrap drives and I a class picnic. CLASS OFFICERS AND SPONSOR We started our junior year by electing Terry Kocher as president, Stanley Swenson as vice-president, Ruthanne Wensel as secretary, and Donna Fisher as treasurer. This was a big and busy year which began with a paper drive and a concession and dance during the football season. Our junior play, Down To Earth , was presented on February 2 and 3. Then came the preparation for our prom, Moonlight Memories , and the Junior-Senior Banquet which was held in the Martha Washin ton Room at the - S VVagon Wheel on May 8. Though there were many expenses that year, our treasury was in good shape for the big year ahead, This was it! Our senior year at H. C. H. S. Mr. Spielman left the teaching profession and Mr. Hicks became our sponsor. We re-elected Terry Kocher, Ruthanne Wensel, and Donna Fisher to their offices and selected Larry Whisman as our vice-president. Then we made and sold Indian headbands for Homecoming and also sponsored the Homecoming concession and dance. The sale of note cards and our dues, noon lunches, the candy machine, a bake sale, and car washes all increased our treasuryg as did the play Tish , a three-act cornedy presented on April 11 and 12. Then came the Senior Trip and Graduation, our goal for the past four years. WHATS COOKING?- NOON LUNCHES, OF COURSE-OUR CHIEF MONEY MAKER. -155 f sa 1.2
