CUR KNIGHTS WIN Many of our boys started out In football to show tmat they could be xexl lvnghts There were eley en boys who achxewed the honor of kmghthood by the end of the season On Nox ember 23 Hr Walker our coach presented these elex en boys Z subst1tutes and 2 student managers vnth then emblem of knlghthood On a first encounter one mght ln Sept our knlghts competed 1n a non conference game w1th Fort Atklnson at Ft Atkmson We came home badly defeated wlth the scole of 21 to 0 and one of our kmgh s JonnnyTelt'a1r had 1 broken ankle wh1c 1 prevented hlm from playmg unt1l the last game of the season Not to be h ld down our lads resumed practlce determlned to prove The next tvso 1ousts we played were at home wlth Marengo and Belo1t s B team The first game end ed wlth a t1e score of 0 to 0 and we lost the second game wxth a 7 to 6 score Lee Henderson made the touch down 1n thld game V mnebago yy s our fh st home con ference game and at last a 14 to 0 uc ing was Ours Homecommg' Huxrah for our Slde by check and double check we found the score 60 to 0 1n our favor Some cr1t1cs Sald th1s game was more hke a track meet than a football game Touchdowns were as follows Lee Hendexson 4 Charles Whltmg 1 Leonard Wr1ght3 Kenneth Franseen 1 Henderson made 5 extra pomts and xvhltlflg 1 W1HUlHgth1S game gaxe lust the lght atmosphere for our homecommg celebratlon We lode the royal coach the bus to Harlem where we suffel ed a defeat of 2o to 7 We the spectators wlll always remember Lee Henderson as he made h1s famous 87 yaxd dash for a touchdown on the klckoff Perhaps thele was a lady ln waltmg 20 .
