Now, that the next peliod is beginning, we will stay in the same room as there seems to be very busy man coming in. He must have lots to do because he carries a large stack of books see on the folio that he carries, that his nanw is Mr Loomis Oh! yes, we have heard of him H is the principal. From a conversation with one of the students, we learn that he teaches classes in English, Civics and Economics, he has been t Hononegah since 1929 when he came here as princip He served in the French and American armies during thc World War, he attended Beloit College and the Univ rsity of Wisconsin Now at fifteen minutes after elcven, we are getting rather hungry, and as the odor of food is coming from somewhere, we search for it in the cooking laboratory. lho cooking classes serve the cafeteria at noon. The instructor, we learn is Miss Loser, a graduate of Wesleyan, at Bloom ington, Illinois, who, along with the cooling classes has charge of the sewing classes, Dinner Club G A A and is the Sophomore Class Adviser After dinner we decided to visit a mathema tics class Here we find such a class, and 'w recognize the teacher as the coach. Our thoughts are affirmed as we find that Mr Walker teaches all the Math classes, and is coach for football, basketball, and track teams. He was graduated from Carthage College at Carthage, Illinois This year the seniors elected him as their class spons or, as did last year's seniors. Let's do some exploring and find out what this building is, out behind the school. It is cold on the way out - but it looks as though it were inhabited, so they will probably have some heat out there. As we approach we hear noises of machinery. Yes, it must be the shop! But where is the instructor? Certainly these boys must have some guiding hand. Here he comes! We learn from this Heasy-to-get-acquainted-withn man that his name is Mr. Root - a graduate of State Teach- ers College at Platteville, Wisconsin. He teaches Mechanical Drawing, Manual Training, and Indust- rial Geography and is the Freshman Class Sponsor. ll 'SK Eg? -59' KW TIME OUT TO VISIT THE LIBRARY Let us pause for a few minutes to look over the library. We have worth-while books in all fields of reading--history, fiction, biography, poetry, drama, and others. Everyone knows the value of fiction. It affords us pleasure and if we take time to notice, we will find that quite often there is interwoven an interesting back- ground of history. HAlice of Old Vencennes' is a good example of this kind of literature. Almost everyone likes poetry of some kind--even Shake- spoare's dramas, when you become good enough to understand them, are interesting. Biography is an essential part of reading, because when you know and understand the author's moods, you can more readily understand his works. And then, of course we alw ys rave new magazines on the shelves to give us current news I think that orce you have found out what a genuine Jewel any good library is, you will spend a good deal of your spare time reading JUST TIME TO GET THE BUS 'Here I'll hold your coat while you tie yo shoes You'll have to watch that clock more olo sely Can't you see this silver and blue Rec Speedwagon bus coming down the road9U 'Yes but I'm so sleepy that I want to borr w your shoulder for a rest.'
