Their loy alty to team and school will be an inspiration to those who follow in their foot steps as Warrior players and boosters. We trust that the habits of fair play, loyalty to high ideals, and the desire to succeed will remain with Blair, Brimmage, Carpenter, the Cunningham's, Dickson, Doyle, Dyer. Ellis. the Ho1lowell's, Milford, Scott, Sivley, and Wood to spur them on to high achievements in their chosen professions. f' C r- '- -,T CE .. ..- CJ F -- .. -3 Q Q A 1. - . -Q QQ ICWYT if Nnrf' 9-cn-Irs, Q' SUPERINTENDENTS MESSAGE The continuance of our American way of life depends upon the way our citizens are educated. As the problems of society become more com- plicated, the education of our people becomes more difficult and requires more time. A hundred years ago, when mastery of the rudiments of the Three R's was sufficient, the necessary schooling could be obtained in a few years. Now many years of school attendance are necessary. And, more and more our people, to meet changing demands of life, are supplementing their schooling with Adult Education. Since change in a dynamic society, such as we cherish, is inevitable and inescapable, education will always be playing an important part. As it plays this role we will find that what education was intended to do or be in the past does not necessarily include what it should be or do in the future. Good administrative practice involves cooperative deliberation by teachers, parents, and the community at large. Although less than half of the homes in a given community are directly affected oy having children in the schools, all other homes are affected indirectly. Our program of public education should provide for every educable child, youth, and adult. Each individual should have the kind and amount of education which will make him most useful to himself and to others according to the principles of American Democracy. My personal congratulations to the sponsor and staff for another year c5'Muf Honey Grove Public Schools Superintendent Honey Grove, Texas yearbook well done. M,-Aff iw. 5-s. , ,sl 'sf-,. ADMI J. Jimmie Dickson and Billy Dyer added one extra point each to round out the scoring. HONEY GROVE WARRIORS WIN OVER OLD RIVALS Warrior linemen held the Bonham offense in check here Friday night, Sept, 19 and the Warriors won by a score of 10-7. Sivley and Carpenter sliced through Bonham's line to bring down Purple Warrior backs behind the goal line for two safeties during the game, Wood tossed a pass for 35 yards to Jack Rogers to set up the winning touchdown. Woods then carried 4 yds. around right end for six points and the score was 8-0. On a low snap from center the ball rolled into the end zone. A purple warrior fell on it for a touchdown. The try for extra point was good. The score was 8-7. Carpenter then slashed through Bonham's line and tackled a Bonham ball carrier for 2 more points. WARRIORS FIRST CONFERENCE GAME The Warriors won their first conference game by defeating Whitesboro 18-12 on Friday, Sept, 26 in Whitesboro. Neither team scored the first half.
