Mary Ann Wood D N 1 Pep squad sasne Dall '55 '34 '35 Assistant Editor Track 34 '55 The enior Class The Senior cl ss of la55 claims tn distinction of being the largest class that has ever gradlat 1 from the Honey Grove High School Out of the tro classes rr n started to school in the first grade in 10 4, there are oily three students out of one and about ten ou+ of the of ci who will graduate this year A large number o the high chool athletes this year are members of the senior clas ight of the Honey Grove let termen who won the distract champion his this year are seniors Over half of the basketnlll players who received awards are seniors Seniors also ccounted for about 40 of the 91 points made in track as well 1 a gre t number of the points won in the lite ary events me Senior cl ss consists of approxinv ately 67 students, wise or otherwise, who plan to receive their diplomas on May 27 and for the last time depart from dear old Senior Play The Seniors decided they would get something new in the way of a class play this year and with the help of the faculty fin ally got a three act farcical comedy called 0Kleptomtn1a' the name indicates it had to do with the exploits oi a person afflicted with a certain malady known as kleptomania, which causes a person to pick pu unconsciously the property of others The part of General Blair, which suited him, was played by William Stanford He was the harassed husband of Lady Josephine, who was his greatest worry, and the father of Violet Blair Doctor Watly, alias Richard Whitley, was a yoing sargeon and a suitor for the hand of Violet He was trying out a new theory on relieving Lady Josephine of Kleptomania Professor Andrew Smalley, LL D , Trinity College, Cam- bridge was Lynn Roddy His engagement to Violet Blair was broken upon learning that his future Mother in law was a klept omaniac His pride and dignity were hurt by Lady Josephine's actions Lady Josephine, wife of Major General Blair, who was the kleptomaniac, was an exact model of Jimmie Robnett Lady Jos ephine was the object of Doctor Watlyvs experiments She caused quite a little scandal in the family by purloining many silver articles. Violet Blair, as portrayed by Mary Ann Wood, was the sweet, marriageable daughter of Maj. Gen. Blair and Lady Josephine. She was very considerate, even taking the blame for the actions of her mother. Hayton, the General's butler, as acted by John Dryden, was all that a butler should be. Before the day was over, the but- ler received the worst end in a scene with the kleptomaniacs. Lucille Kirk made an excellent maid, but she lost the show when Hrs. Gathermoss hit her in the eye with an umbrella.
