Karen Street works hard, but is ready for a break. 6 HOMECOMING HOMECOMING AND PREPARATIONS Homecoming week is an exciting time for the students here at H.H.S. With school starting in September, little time was allowed for the prep- arations concerning Homecoming. Homecoming week was filled with various activities. The SCA worked hard to provide a variety of activi- ties for each day of the week. Fri- day, September 27, was the open- ing to an exciting weekend. For the first time in many years, students were allowed to work and deco- rate club floats during school time, under the supervision of club spon- sors. Given this priviledge the stu- dents responded by being very ac- tive and cooperative. Floats were brought onto the driving range and most of the day Friday was spent decorating. Although the weather- man kept predicting rain, Friday proved to be a partly sunny and warm day. That evening at 5:30, Honaker was full of anxious people to view the parade. There was a judging of the floats before the parade. The Junior Class won Most Spirited, SCA won Queen Award, and the FBLA won Most Unusual Award. Hundreds of devoted fans filled the Fuller Field Stadium to watch the mighty Tigers. At the beginning of the game the Honaker Tiger Band put on an excel- lent performance. Also, Shelia McFarlane crowned Linda Miller Homecoming Queen. Saturday night the cafeteria was full of life as the Homecoming Dance took place from 7:00-11:00 p.m. This Homecom- ing will be remembered by all as a success.

On September 27, 1985, Linda Mill- er, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Miller, was crowned Homecoming Queen. She was escorted by Jon Humphries, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Callhan. Linda was one of the four girls nominated for Home- coming Queen by the Senior class. 4984 Homecoming Queen Shelia McFarlane relinquishes her title as Mr. David Musick crowns Linda. 8 HOMECOMING HOMECOMING 1985 Terri Hart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hart, represented the senior class as an attendant. She was es- corted by Chris Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Taylor. Leslie Dotson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Dotson, was selected as one of the Homecoming Attendants for the Junior class. She was escort- ed by Randy Vernon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Vernon. Becky Honaker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Honaker, was no- minated as one of the four Senior Homecoming Attendants. She was escorted by Curt Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey Cook. Tammy Kiser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kiser was selected as the other Homecoming Attendant for the Junior Class. She was escort- ed by Jeff Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Miller.
