To the Honaker Lions Club - whose members, through their tireless efforts and whole- hearted support, are in a large measure responsible for the elementary school building now being constructed, the high school band, the football team, and the fine new stadium - the Senior Class gratefully and respectfully dedicates the 1964 TORCH. Not only has the Lions Club contributed its enthusiasm and influence to these worthy causes, but it has also made substantial material gifts. To the football team it gave $3,000 for uniforms and equipment; to the athletic fund, $1,000 stock in the New Garden Develop- ment Corporation; and to the band, $1,000. It has paid for six successful eye operations and furnished twenty-six pairs of glasses to school children. The Club ' s interest has not stopped with the school but has spread to the town, where it has paved two parking lots, sponsored the organization of the Rescue Squad and a Boy Scout troop. Whenever there is a need, these men lend themselves willingly to the progress and benefit of the school and communi- ty.
